Valley Gospel

Four Women

Pastor Bob Ezatoff Season 2 Episode 40

Send us a text

A church can’t drift into the future on sentiment. We open the service by naming a hard truth—stewardship means preparing for tomorrow—and then anoint two pastors, Daniel Johnson and Stephani Ezatoff, to carry the mission forward under the Spirit’s lead. With elders gathered for the laying on of hands, vows spoken, and gratitude overflowing, the room shifts from ceremony to proclamation, tying leadership to the heart of the Gospel we aim to guard.

From there, we trace four encounters that reveal Jesus’ posture toward real people and real mess: the Samaritan woman who finds living water where shame once ruled, Mary Magdalene delivered from seven demons and commissioned with resurrection news, a Syrophoenician mother whose persistent faith transcends cultural walls, and a woman caught in adultery who hears stones drop and mercy speak. Through these stories, we name four promises that shape Christian life and ministry: no alienation, no reprobation, no discrimination, and no condemnation. Each scene shows how Jesus unites truth and compassion, exposing sin without crushing the sinner, and breaking chains without breaking bruised reeds.

The thread between ordination and sermon is deliberate. Leadership is not about titles or robes—it’s about guarding the pearl of great price by embodying the Gospel’s welcome, deliverance, equity, and mercy. We challenge ourselves to lead like that: to recognize thirst and offer living water, to expect deliverance where despair has settled in, to reject the labels that divide, and to refuse the quick fix of condemnation. If you’ve felt unseen, unclean, or unwelcome, this service is a hand on your shoulder and a seat at the table.

If this resonates, subscribe, share it with someone who needs hope today, and leave a review to help others find the message. Your voice helps this Gospel reach the next person ready to drop their stones and drink from the well.

SPEAKER_02:

Hello, welcome to Valley Gospel Church. We are a non-denominational Pentecostal church located in Springdale, Pennsylvania. Our sole mission is to present the living truth of a risen Lord, Jesus Christ, to a remnant church and a lost world. So let's go into the service recorded live at Valley Gospel Church.

SPEAKER_05:

For the past several years, I've had a gnawing concern regarding the future of Valley Gospel Church. And the concern was and is the leadership that would move us forward only as directed by the Lord. And I know I've been slow, I've taken my time, I've sought the Lord carefully regarding disappointment. And just to be clear, I'm not retiring, I'm not going off on fishing trips or extended vacations. Just realizing, as Ted reminded me a few months ago, you're not going to live forever. And I'm not getting any younger. That's true. My only desire is that Valley Gospel Church moves forward as the Spirit sees fit. And should the Lord tarry, I want to be sure that Valley Gospel is in capable hands. Amen. Amen. You know, Arabelle and I began this ministry, Valley Gospel, in in 2006. However, we've been in ministry since 1978 of some kind or another. Arabelle, would you join me here? Vengaque. This morning, as directed by, and and look, I understand, you know, Arabelle is not the type of first lady type of. But see, that doesn't interest her. But from our inception, she has always been behind me. She's always stood with me. And whatever the her response has always been, whatever the Lord tells you to do, do it. Yet don't ask me, but whatever he tells you to do, do it. As directed by the Lord, we will appoint and ordain two individuals as pastors in Valley Gospel Church with the sole intent of furthering the gospel of Jesus Christ as we move forward. And I know the Lord has blessed this appointment. As I said, I've been very slow in making sure that I was hearing his voice, and I trust that you'll bless this appointment as well. Amen. Each has their own unique ministry, their own unique calling, but are unified in heart and spirit. And I'll ask my son in the Lord, Daniel Johnson, would you come forward? Amen.

unknown:

I do it.

SPEAKER_05:

And my daughter, Stephanie Ezatov, my daughter in the Lord and my daughter.

SPEAKER_00:

Hallelujah.

SPEAKER_05:

I'll start on my right. Amen. Daniel, do you promise to promote Arabell? Stay here. Daniel, do you promise to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed? To uphold and defend the tenets of the full gospel message, to always make the Holy Ghost welcome, to defend and protect Valley Gospel Church against all enemies, be they in the flesh or supernatural.

unknown:

I do.

SPEAKER_05:

Amen. Daughter, Sister Stephanie, do you promise to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ in where we need, to uphold and defend the tenets of the full gospel message, to always make the Holy Ghost welcome, and to defend and protect Valley Gospel Church against all enemies, whether they be in the flesh or in the supernatural. Amen. We hereby anoint you in the name of Jesus. By the authority vested in me by the Lord Jesus Christ, I ordain and anoint each of you as pastors of Valley Gospel Church, and I charge you to protect this pearl of great price. Amen. This is a double anointing ceremony, and I'll ask you if you'll, Daniel and Stephanie, would you walk down to the podium below and sign your ordination papers? But first, before we do that, uh I'll ask what I guess I would call our board of elders. I know it's loosely and we don't have elder meetings or, but this is our board. Call that amen. Would you come forward, please? George, would you come forward? Karen. Karen, where's Karen? Karen, would you come forward, please? Vicky, would you come forward? Ted? Jeff? Krista. I want you to, as they sign their papers, I'll ask you to lay hands on them. Amen. Uh, Donna? Brother John? Carol and Andrea. Oh, I'm sorry. Barry, Sam, and Kevin. Come forward, please. I think the first one is Barry, Sam, and Kevin. Sam. Amen. I'll just ask you, crowd in behind them, and as they sign their ordination papers. Jesus' name, Father. Lord, I ask your anointing, your blessing on these two young hearts, compliant souls, Lord, as they seek only to serve you, Lord, only looking out. And should you tarry, should you tarry, Lord, that they would lead our congregation forward into the millennium as we wait for your appearing. It is in your name we pray. Amen and amen. Amen. And if they have something to share with you, I don't know if they do.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I just want to say to the church and everybody first off, the gospel of Jesus Christ saved my life and it changed everything about me. So, and I want to thank you that a long time ago, when I came here broken at the church down there, that each and every one of you, when I was learning and reading the word, you were the picture of the church that I was reading. And that uh each and every one of you spoke into my life, into my heart every time that I saw you. And I just uh I want to thank you for that. And I want to thank everyone that came up and preached the word. I want to thank Preach for every week, in and out, no matter what was going on, that they uh preach the gospel of Jesus because it does change lives and hearts, and it has mine. I want to thank the Lord for the awesome working that he does, that his word is true and he's faithful, that he's worked in my life. Everything that he said he would do when you come, he is faithful and he does. And I want to thank him for the Holy Spirit for leading and guiding, and I just pray that I know that I can't do any of this without him. There's nothing I can do with without him. So I just pray for his leading and guidance that I could hear and follow him, and I thank you all for praying for me to hear and to follow him, and uh as I'll pray for everybody here like we always do, one another. And I just want to thank everybody who's been on the pulpit around here and preached the word that your collette, Barry did it, John, everybody's been up there and preached that your words have changed lives, like your devotion to the Lord and seeking him has blessed me, and I know it's blessed others, and I just want to thank preach for week in and week out, never stopping to preach the gospel, and I've seen it change not just my life but others, and I've seen the Lord use you and people that I've brought. I know when I first came, I'd be asking the Lord questions not known, and then you would preach and answer my questions, and I'd be like, oh man, and then uh bringing other people and seeing them after the service say the same thing. I was asking the Lord that, and you answered it, you know what I mean? So to see God do what he says, to work through you, to use you mighty for his kingdom and to bless us with his word and for you to be steadfast in that and to hold fast. I appreciate that. It means everything. And the closer that Yunts get leads us closer. So I thank you for that. And I thank you for this church and the dedication to Jesus because it's the only thing that makes a difference. So I thank you for all that.

SPEAKER_00:

Hallelujah, we had a management. I will refresh your souls with fresh living water and make the light of my love shine upon you. I will strengthen you, hold you, I will keep you forever.

SPEAKER_05:

Hallelujah. Step anything. It is my honor and privilege to serve. Amen. So you all can be seated. Let's get back to work, Daniel. Let's go to our classes. As I said, our opening this morning when I greeted you was regarding Mary Magdalene and Mary, and this morning's message embodies the complete gospel. The fullness of all that Jesus is God, Savior, Redeemer, Friend. And we'll see that through the Lord's encounter with four women. I see that we're actually we're probably on the low side today. I see we're on the low side of 50% women in service this morning. But let this, and that's a good thing, right, Colette? Uh and and by the way, ladies, you are not menstruating individuals. Amen. You uh you're not people who birth, you are women. You are women. Through these four encounters that we'll look at, I believe that his promises, his character, and the solution to our problems will be revealed. Uh, these character traits that the Lord wants to set within and over Christianity, that's what sets us apart, not only from the world, but apart from religion. Amen. Chrissy, let's go to work. These same traits that we're gonna look at this morning have been imparted to us by the Lord within Christianity. These four traits that we're gonna look at or solutions in Christianity are no alienation, that being we're all the same in Jesus. We're not separated by education, office, position in the church. Number two, no reprobation. No matter what we've done, no matter what we have thought, no matter what we've said, uh, we can come to Jesus. We can bring it to Dad. Uh no condemnation. No matter how wrong, no matter how sinful we have been in the past or even every day, his mercy is new every morning. It's new every morning, and finally no discrimination. Uh no such thing as African American, Italian American, no discrimination. With Jesus, there's no race, there's no ethnicity, there's no gender, and forgive me, but there is no cross, trans, pan, not 87 genders. There are but two.

SPEAKER_02:

Amen.

SPEAKER_05:

Hallelujah. And we'll see the love of Jesus in this message, and our love for him as it becomes deeper as we seek a closer walk. John 4. St. John 4. You know, my my desire as a teacher is that you know what you believe because you believe it. Okay? Because look, if you feel Christianity is for you today, you can feel it's not for you tomorrow. And if I can convince you of something today, then someone else can unconvince you tomorrow. I want you to see for yourself what this gospel represents and who Jesus is.

SPEAKER_02:

Amen.

SPEAKER_05:

1 John 4, beginning with verse 13. John the John the Beloved, Thunder Voice, I love that name. Thunder Voice, Jesus called him. He also wrote the last book of the Bible while he was in Rome's prison, uh the island of Patmos at a hundred years old. John 4, 13.

SPEAKER_02:

Not first John, you just said it's just regular John. Yes. Okay. Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again. But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him never thirst. But the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

SPEAKER_05:

And I think through this message today you'll see why. And I'll use for a subject long titled Donna, Four Women, Four Encounters, and Four Solutions. You can just put four women. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you, Lord. Thank you for this revelation of truth, Lord. Lord, I thank you for our newly ordained pastors, Lord, that you've chosen, that you've committed unto. Lord, I just ask your anointing and your blessing not only on them, Lord, as they move forward, but on this word today as we move forward. In Jesus' name. Amen and amen. Please be seated. There's a word I like that might be misunderstood a little bit, and that word is redemption. Redemption. I don't know if I've ever heard or read a good definition or a good understanding of the word redemption. We know that it was birthed in the mind of God Almighty. We know that it was paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ. But as we try to comprehend the act of redemption and to define it, I really believe that we have to conclude it's not a point of theology. It's not a doctrinal point. Rather, redemption is embodied in a single person. That is the person of Jesus Christ. You know, when I was in Bible college, I attended classes taught by some pretty outstanding and impressive theologians, Greek scholars, learning all about the life of Christ. And you know, I don't know that it can be aptly described in that his life was so amazing, from birth to death to resurrection, it really defies description. It's hard to wrap our head around his life. His life on earth spanned only 33 years. And but they were, and his ministry only lasted three and a half years. But they were three and a half years that revolutionized the world. It changed man's thinking. All from that little place in Israel, it changed the way men thought across the globe. It changed not only man's thinking, but it changed his approach to God. Even those that had a belief in that higher power. It changed their approach. But ironically, Jesus never put pen to paper that we know of, never wrote a word, never left the confines of Israel, except to go to Tyrant Sidon, which was Israel then. Today it's modern-day Lebanon. Yet his ministry was so powerful, so revolutionary, so startling that he may be feared, he may be hated, he may be despised, but he could not be ignored. As we study his life, his ministry, we find in his approach to people, and if I I thought that the chosen was a great revealing of his approach to people. That's why I like the program so much. Jesus is and was a people person. He went to the people, he went to where the hurt was. He broke all the rules. He was a rule breaker, all the long-held traditions and concepts. He broke the mold of piety and Judeo religion. They didn't know what to do with them. He ate with sinners, he addressed and conversed with Samaritans. He chose unlearned men as disciples instead of priests and scribes. He had within his group ex-prostitutes, ex-felons within his group. Yet, yet, he rubbed shoulders with the rich and powerful. No man was able to trip him up, not in a single word. They pitted their finest theologians that did religion did, against him, and they asked him no more questions. My listen to this. Jesus had, and this kind of struck me, because Jesus had three approaches to the people he interacted with. To the religious leaders, to the recognized pulpit. His approach was hard and biting. Harsh. You think I'm harsh sometime? Jesus was really harsh. He said, Beware the leaven of the Pharisees. They're snakes and vipers. That's what he called the religious leaders. Snakes and vipers. He said they're like old coffins. Outside they're nice and shiny. Inside they stink. That's what our precious Lord said. Amen. That was his message to a corrupt, evil clergy, to world leaders, to politicians, mayors, uh, community leaders, uh, the Herods that placed themselves above the people. If he spoke at all, it was sarcastic. One day Herod sent to arrest him. And they said, Herod wants you to come. He knew what what they were coming for, they were coming to arrest him. And Jesus said, You tell that fox that I'll be here three more days doing cures, opening blinded eyes. If he thinks he can stop me, come ahead. I'm right here. To the sinner, to the vilest of vile, to the thief, the adulterer, the felon, nothing but compassion, love, and mercy. Never condemn them, not one single time. Not once. That's the point of the message this morning. In today's message, you will find the answer to modern problems and modern living. And we'll find them in these four women. Hallelujah. Their relationship with Christ. We find the answers, the solutions to our hurt, to our concerns, to our hopes, to his promises. Still in John 4, 10. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God and who it is that saith unto thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldest have asked him, and he would have given thee living water. The woman said unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. From whence then hast thou that living water? Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us this well, and drank thereof himself and his children and his cattle? Jesus answered and said, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again, but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst. But the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well springing up into everlasting life. This is the first account. Jesus is journeying through Galilee, passing through Samaria. He's at the ageless place called Shekem or Sychar, the place of Jacob's well. That's where he's at. His disciples went into Shechem for some supplies, some food, and Jesus lingers at the well. While he's there, a woman came to draw water from the well, and Jesus speaks to her. And that's. And she doesn't expect him to speak to her, so it shocks her. By his dress, she knows he's a Jew, and she asked him why. Jesus asks her for water. He said to this Samaritan woman, if you knew to whom you spoke, you would ask me for living water. Now, here's the powerful part of this. To his own people, his own disciples, when they asked him, Are you, are you, he was evasive. He wouldn't answer them directly. Who do you say that I am? He wouldn't answer them. But to this woman, this Samaritan woman, he speaks openly and plainly. She said, This well is deep. I don't understand. We know about a Messiah, and he told her, I'm the one. I am the crust. To this Samaritan woman. Wouldn't tell Peter, but he told this Samaritan woman. She mentions her husband. He said, Yeah, that's not real accurate. You have five. You've had five. Think of that. Think of that. This woman has had five husbands. And I've heard readings and people's interpretation that she couldn't have children, and therefore husbands kept divorcing her because she couldn't have children. I don't know that that's true or what it was, but we do know she had five husbands. But imagine the broken hearts. Five husbands. Imagine the broken homes, the unkept promises. Wow. Five husbands. What her circumstances must have been in that day and age. She must have been, she had to have been close to just giving up, just throwing in the towel. I can't go on like this. I can't keep doing this. She was probably disparaged by the community. Family had probably rejected her because of what she had done. And Jesus tells her, the one you're with now isn't your husband. You're just living with a guy. And this blows her away. How does he read her mind? How does he know who she is? And just this glimpse into her lifestyle, how low she must have been, how steeped in sin and darkness, unloved, uncared for, surrounded by darkness and evil, but Jesus doesn't have a word of rebuke, no reprobation, no condemnation, and he speaks these beautiful words to her, our opening scripture. Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again, but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst. But the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up to everlasting life. That's what he tells her. That's what he tells her. My and the message for you and I, for everyone who calls on the name of Jesus, is that if you'll come to him, no matter how broken we are, no matter how steeped in darkness, how weak you might think you are, Jesus said, if you come to me with devils all around, with demons watching on, he'll break every oppression. He'll break every shackle, every chain that has you bound. He'll light every dark corner, he will set you free. That's his words. He'll call you a son and a daughter, and he'll welcome you with open arms, regardless of where you've been and what you've done. The next woman we encounter, we mentioned her in our opening, is Mary of Magdala, Mary Magdalene. And when I think of Mary, I think of that beautiful Mary at the tomb on that first Easter morning. I think of her compassion, her tears, and again, I think the chosen did such an outstanding job of depicting her and who she was. I think it was spot on. Her tears at the cemetery when they think, when she thinks someone stole the master's body. And all of a sudden, all of a sudden, like the crack of a whip, Jesus is standing in front of her. In perfect health, in perfect health, and she falls at his feet. Her mind, you know, it was racing. The impossibility of this moment. Yeah, I know he said it. I didn't think it would be like this. I didn't think I'd. Jesus foretold his resurrection, and now the truth stood right in front of her. And he says, I'm not dead, Mary. I'm alive. And she preaches the very first message of this new covenant as she runs through the cemetery looking for apostles and disciples, preaching, he's not dead, he's alive. He's alive, he's alive. Jesus is alive. John, James, Peter, everybody she crossed paths with, he's alive. Glory. That's the Mary that I know. That's the Mary that I think about. That's the one I recall. But she wasn't always like that. She wasn't always like that. There's another Mary, one so hideous, so evil and frightening that we would recoil from her if we would just be in her presence. Only one tiny scripture. One tiny scripture reveals that Mary. It's Luke 8 and 2. It tells us who she is. Let's go there. Luke 8. You need to. We need to see it. Luke 8, 2. And a certain woman which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, married called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils. This woman that we know so wonderfully, so powerfully, was so deep in sin, deeper than the Samaritan woman. Mary was demon-possessed, seven devils, horrifying. She was a co-conspirator with her father, the devil. That's who she was, controlled by Satan and the powers of darkness, completely, not just under his influence, but under his control. She must have been responsible for so much evil under Satan's will. He controlled her mind, her thoughts, her actions. That's who she was. But the important part of that scripture in Luke says, out of whom he cast seven devils, seven demons. That's the Jesus you serve. That's the Jesus we serve. That's the Jesus we preach. He's not Jesus hanging on a crucifix. He's not Jesus inside of a monastrum. He's not Jesus in a picture. I'm not preaching a nice idea or a religious ideology. I'm not preaching a 2,000-year-old myth that we cling to for some historical reason. I'm preaching a Jesus that's living and alive, that's doing well. And he's broken the bonds of sin and death. That's what he's done and can break every shackle, every chain in our life. Amen. Whatever that might be. Whatever that might be. Glory. Please forgive me if I get a little bit emotional. I try not to because I want you to get it straight and calm. But when I start to speak about my burden bearer, you know, it's like Daniel shared with us just a minute ago where he was. My kinsman redeemer. Hallelujah. The glory and the lifter of my head, the fairest of ten thousand. When I start to talk about him, I get excited because of what he's done for me. When I talk about what our brother John said, robe of sparkling white, garments dipped in blood, hair white like wool, feet like brass, I get emotional. It's an emotional topic. When I think about what the psalmist said or what the apostles said or what the Baptist said when they called him Lion of the tribe of Judah, Lamb of God, the lily of the valley, the bright in the morning star. Because he can and will reach into the heart of a man or a woman and change your life, change your heart, change your destination, and change your being. Brothers and sisters, that's change you can believe in. That's change that you can believe in. I'll shout it, I'll sing it, I'll preach it. I know he can do it for you because Jesus did it for me. I know what he can do. Amen. I'm not your answer, but I can point you to one who got it. Glory. No alienation for Mary Magdalene, no reprobation for the woman at the well. Number three, no discrimination. No discrimination. Mark. All gospel today. All gospels. Mark 7. Mark 7 and 25. For a certain woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard of him and came and fell at his feet. The woman was a Greek, a Seraphenician by nation. And she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled, for it is not meat to take the children's bread and to cast it unto the dogs. And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord, yet the dogs under the table eat what the child eat of the children's crumbs. And he said unto her, For this saying, go thy way. The devil is gone out of thy daughter. And when she and when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone and her daughter laid upon the bed. Seraphonician woman, Greek. They were the epitome of culture of that day. And listen carefully to the exposition and see if it doesn't fit the way of the world in the 21st century. I believe this to be one of the most beautiful stories in the Word of God. She came for a healing, deliverance for her daughter. Remember, she was a Greek. Greek was a center of worldly culture by and large, uh atheist, believed in intellect. uh philosoph philosophy, uh wealth, and they knew it. They knew it. They were they were big shots. And she came to Jesus. And the question that always came up in my mind is why didn't Jesus respond immediately? We know that Jesus always responds to faith but he doesn't respond to social status or education or the number of collars we have on or the robes we wear or the pointy hats. Doesn't respond. He doesn't respond to education, to ethnicity or to culture. He doesn't respond to denomination or affiliation. See if we think we were Pentecostal or we're we're Baptist or we're I'm Roman Catholic of course no response. No response. Jesus says get in line this is the children's bread and you don't give children's bread to the dogs that Seraphonician woman that Greek woman that proud Greek woman and I love her she said sir but don't the puppies get what falls from the table my Jesus said you're right you're right go home your daughter is already healed she's already been delivered the problem was the same then as as it is today whether it be social discrimination racial discrimination ethnic discrimination the age old plague from then until now we saw it with the Samaritan woman we see it with the Greek woman societal classes division classes of wealth and power and position in our relationship with Christ he doesn't see color he doesn't see origin he doesn't see male or female he doesn't see degree no degree he doesn't see skinny or fat or hair or no hair doesn't care. He doesn't care if you're African American or Mexican or Chinese Irish Polish Lithuanian Italian doesn't care. He doesn't recognize whether you're Baptist or Methodist or Church of God or Assembly of God or Presbyterian or Lutheran or Nazarene or Episcopalian He doesn't care. At Azusa the story tells us that flannel rub shoulders with silk amen rich sat next to poor black were in the in the same congregation as whites amen Jesus said let whosoever come and drink of the water of life freely without money without price no discrimination no alienation and no reprobation finally no condemnation this is our final woman in the four women amen are you hallelujahing me because I said I'm done I'm just messing with you Mike John eight John eight and three And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery and when they had set her in the midst they said unto him Master this woman was taken in adultery in the very act now Moses in the law commanded us that such should be stung but what sayest thou and this they said tempting him that they might have to accuse him but Jesus stooped down and with his finger wrote in the ground as though he had heard them not so when he con so when they continued asking him he lifted up himself and said unto them He that is without sin among you let him first cast a stone at her and again he stooped down and wrote on the ground and they which heard it being convicted by their own conscience went one by one out beginning at the eldest even unto the last and Jesus was left alone and the woman standing in the midst when Jesus had lifted himself up and saw none but the woman he said unto her Woman where are those thine accusers hath no man condemned thee and she said No man, Lord and Jesus said Neither do I go and sin no more Wow Wow this Jesus comes to teach at the temple and he sits down he's beginning to teach and all of a sudden these hypocritical Pharisees bring this woman caught in the act of adultery and why why did that because this isn't hearsay. This isn't he said she said caught in the very act she was guilty. They throw her to the ground in front of Jesus and they say to Jesus about Moses' law you say you obey the law why shouldn't we start picking up rocks? And Jesus acts as though he doesn't even hear them and he begins to write in the dirt with his finger. Amen I love if you've ever read anything from C. M. Ward C. M. Ward said he's we he wrote a love letter Pharisee said what'll you do? Jesus said let he who is without sin cast the first stone but wait the Greek implies that he who is without this sin that you have accused her of which one of you is without this very sin let him cast the first stone Jesus looked into the souls of these Pharisees and saw who they were saw exactly who they were that all of them were adulterers and they dropped their rocks and head for home Jesus looks at the woman and says Woman where are your accusers non Lord I said neither do I go and sin no more no condemnation no alienation no reprobation and no discrimination in closing and in prepping for our Memorial Day service I read a little bookletary and it was on the Statue of Liberty. That stately lady with a torch held high she's beckoned millions from oppression and tyranny to what she stands for freedom freedom inscribed on her pedestal are the words of Emma Lazarus give me your tired your poor your huddled masses yearning to breathe free the wretched refuse from your teeming shores send these the homeless the tempest toss to me I lit my lamp beside the golden door a different monument today that towers over history offering eternal freedom to those that are enslaved to those that are held in bondage to those that can see no way out but everywhere it's the cross where Jesus hung and died two thousand years ago and from the cross we hear his promise come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden I will give you rest. Amen for women four promises four issues amen.
